Hello everybody!

I thought it was time to post something about our efforts for the World Championships.

I have traveled to Germany to compete in the European championships and to test the interest in the participation for the Smith Creek and there seems to be a good amount of people that are planning on attending. I have since done a Skype meeting (with power point presentation) with the De Panne Yacht Club and answered more questions from people interested in coming. I am willing to do the same thing with other groups if it would help, so contact me if you would like to set something up.

Here in the US things are progressing nicely with the planning. As many of you know hosting a world championship is a big task and we are committed to putting on the best event possible with as much assistance to the competitors that we can provide. I realize this is a remote location and getting the infrastructure there is no easy task. But we are used to doing such things and are up to the task.

Here is a list of some of the things that we are have secured so far; Garbage removal, portable toilets, Road improvement to the site, Ice delivery, Water delivery, RV holding tank pump out, Outdoor showers, Fire pits, Private FM radio station to broadcast information throughout camp, SASSASSANATOR, SASSASS Bar, On site medical technicians, Entrance/exit road markers for night and day, Help with shipping, Charter yacht program, Store runner to go to Fallon for supplies every other day, Food service (Exact amount of service is not known at this time), 3 catered dinners, Large event tent, Broken boat recovery trailer and the support

of Austin, Nevada and the Nevada tourism council. Nevada is having its 150 year celebration next year and we are one of its signature events. There are many more things in the works right now that will only make the event better than it is already going to be. I have the support of the US dirt boating community and especially my friends and colleagues of SASSASS who this would not be possible.

2014WorldsCharterBoat@gmail.com.      WE NEED PEOPLE THAT HAVE BOATS TO CHARTER TO CANTACT KEITH ASAP, WE NEED TO GET THIS PROGRAM GOING. There will be an online registration site to sign up for the Worlds and you will need to do this before February 28th. We need to have the registration set by then so we can plan properly for the amount of people coming.

The planning it takes to host or attend this event is difficult for both the hosts and participants, but in the end it will be an experience that will never be forgotten and the stories will last a lifetime. This will be the 9th time I have participated in the World Championships and I would do it all over again as the memories of these trips and all the great people that I have met along the way will never leave me.
